Community/Police Dialogues - Bios



Debra Oliver is a veteran mediator, trainer, dialogue facilitator and restorative justice provider of over 25 years. Debra spearheaded extensive Community/Police Dialogues with Santa Fe Police Department and the Santa Fe Sheriff's Department. In recognition of this work, Debra received the Voice of Peace Award from the Department of Peace Initiative and the Santa Fe Futures Award. Debra has been a provider of Restorative Justice services for New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department for the last six years. She also received the Stephen Sprague Award for Cultural Diversity in Mediation from the New Mexico Mediation Association, 2009. She is founder of Common Ground Mediation Services in Santa Fe and co-founder of Community Dialogue Network.

 

Mary Ellen Gonzales is co-founder of Community Dialogue Network, where she co-facilitated extensive Community/Police Dialogues with Santa Fe Police Department and the Santa Fe Sheriff's Department for a three year period, for which she also won The Voice of Peace Award. Mary Ellen served 8 years on the Santa Fe Board of Education and the Santa Fe Regional Juvenile Justice Board; she understands issues from a broad policy perspective. Mary Ellen received the NAACP award for fairness in the allocation of resources for Santa Fe Public School students. For the last six years, Mary Ellen has been a Community Group Conference Restorative Justice service provider for youth involved with the juvenile justice system in conjunction with the Children, Youth and Families Department of New Mexico.

 

Beverly Neal-Clinton is a United States Marine who is currently employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Deployed Security Officer. She has over 13 years of experience in the legal field as a court reporter, 10 years of experience in Security and four years of experience as a Mediator and Facilitator. Beverly is one of several mediators at Los Alamos National Laboratory who work with the Ombudsman Office to facilitate disputes which may arise among employees and/or management. She is certified through the UNM Law School as a trained Mediator and through Common Ground Mediation Services in Restorative Justice as well as Mediation. Additionally, she has experience in Governmental Relations and International Affairs.
